Shift In Charge Production
Job Description
1. Production Operations & Control Execute daily production plans as per SOPs, process sheets, and quality standards. Monitor critical process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rate, batch cycle time) and ensure stable operation of all equipment. Coordinate with CCR/DCS/PLC operators for smooth operation and immediate response to alarms. 2. Safety & Compliance Enforce PPE usage, LOTO, Work Permit System, and Safety SOPs on the shop floor. Conduct shift toolbox talks, hazard identification, and near-miss reporting. Ensure compliance with statutory norms (Factory Act, Pollution Control Board, and internal IMS/SHE guidelines). 3. Manpower Management Assign work to technicians, helpers, and machine operators during the shift. Maintain discipline, productivity, and skill utilization of the workforce. Ensure proper shift handover/takeover with complete logbook updates. 4. Equipment Monitoring & Troubleshooting Perform routine inspection of critical equipment (pumps, compressors, reactors, furnaces, conveyors, IS machines, lehrs). Identify abnormalities such as vibration, leakage, overheating, unusual sound, and take corrective action. Coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns, preventive tasks, and shutdown activities. 5. Quality Assurance Ensure product quality by following QC parameters, sampling protocols, SPC charts, and visual inspections. Communicate deviations to QC/QA and implement corrective measures. Maintain traceability and batch-wise documentation. 6. Material & Resource Management Monitor raw material feeding, cullet ratio, fuel consumption, utilities (steam, air, power, water). Ensure optimum utilization of material to reduce wastage and improve yield. 7. Documentation & Reporting Maintain shift logbooks, production reports, downtime records, incident records, and ERP/SAP entries. Report abnormalities, process deviations, and production losses to senior management. 8. Coordination With Other Departments Work closely with Maintenance, Utility, QC/QA, Safety, and Warehouse for uninterrupted operations. Support shutdown/startup activities as per approved checklists and SOPs. 9. Continuous Improvement Implement Kaizen, 5S, Lean practices, cost optimization & process improvements. Participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), CAPA, and safety improvement projects.
